Promoting Neighborhood Beautification!

River Park neighborhood, Sacramento, California

The club’s fourth annual neighborhood garden tour, “Special Garden Spaces” on April 20, drew visitors to six diverse gardens — all in all, a successful day. Visitors commented on our nice neighborhood and the friendliness of the garden owners and the dozens of club members who made the tour possible.

With a boost of generous financial help from sponsors including RPNA and neighborhood businesses, the tour highlighted gardens large and small and all very personal.

Plans are already afoot for next year’s garden tour, so if anyone knows of a great River Park garden, please email Pat at zoeybinguong15@gmail.com

The garden club’s next general meeting will be Thursday, June 20, at the Shepard Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and guests are welcome. Bring your own dinner; desserts and beverages will be provided. The evening will feature a pictorial presentation of “Grand and Not So Grand Gardens in France,” by club president Pat Smith.

Our Work

Not only do we promote and encourage the proper cultivation of gardens by inviting guests speakers to share their knowledge, members of our club also volunteer their time and effort in the beautification of our neighborhood for all to enjoy. Members provide ongoing maintenance and upkeep of gardens in the Yermol Memorial - at our neighborhood's entrance, and at the Glenn Hall park entrance.  We also have a volunteer team to help plant trees in the neighborhood for the River Park Tree Canopy Project.

Join Us

Whether you are a lifetime gardener or a beginner, we invite you to join us. We welcome new ideas and value enthusiasm from members and volunteers, new and old.
